Often people refer to scaling up when they mean business growth, however there is a difference. Growth is when a company increases its revenue and associated costs rise.
Scaling on the other hand is where a company experiences higher revenue generation but does not have to incrementally boost resources to meet this demand.
A key decision when scaling up will be how to finance your business expansion. It could be a bank loan, an overdraft, private investment, crowdfunding, venture capitalists, angel investors or surplus cash flow.
This event will offer guidance for SMEs on how to navigate the landscape between equity finance, loans and grant funding and tips on where to find them. It will be especially relevant to businesses who operate in the Renewable Energy or Low Carbon sector as this is currently a strong area of growth in the region.
Our guest speakers for the event will be MSIF’s Investment Director, Simon Thelwall-Jones and Inventya Scale-Up Director, Jim Doherty, who will share their insights on the funding options available to grow your business and will prepare you how to access them.
Vinney Chauhan from Enterprise Europe Network and Pedro Rivera from LCR Future Energy will also be sharing advice on the current business support on offer for SMEs.
Breakfast will be provided.
